Gehenna joined forces with Cacophonous for their first full-length, "Seen Through the Veils of Darkness (The Second Spell)", in 1995. Recorded in Sandnes, Norway, the album features guest vocals by Garm of Ulver on the track Vinterriket. With lyrics rooted in mysticism and occultism, the band's sound differed from many of their contemporaries, it was more melodic, with a dominant use of keyboards in their song writing. An almost perfect melding of hostility and atmosphere, the album was met with much interest and acclaim upon its release, and put the band at the forefront of the Norwegian scene.
The record has been given new life with 2016's re-issue containing re-mastered audio from Danny B (Lock Up, Pentagram, Criminal) of HVR Studios.
